Prevent app from accessing mobile network on Android 8?

Question

I am on Android 8.0.0 and not able to find an option to prevent an app from accessing the mobile network.


Did I just not find it or doesn't this feature exist on version 8 yet?

Answer

You can use an App called Tasker to accomplish this.


Deny Access to App


Go to Add task > add action > Net > Network Access


It creates a VPN for the chosen app, thereby preventing it from using the real network.
