Floating Action Button

A circular button made of paper that lifts and emits ink reactions on press.

This widget supports two sizes according to Promoted Actions pattern: normal and mini.

Like an ImageView this widget require android:src attribute. According to official documentation this drawable should be not more than 24dp.

JavaDoc is here.

Gradle dependency

dependencies {

 compile 'com.shamanland:fab:0.0.8'
}

Show/hide when user scrolls down/up

Set custom OnTouchListener for scrollable view:

import com.shamanland.fab.FloatingActionButton; import com.shamanland.fab.ShowHideOnScroll; // ... FloatingActionButton fab = (FloatingActionButton) findViewById(R.id.fab);
 ListView listView = (ListView) findViewById(android.R.id.list);
listView.setOnTouchListener(new ShowHideOnScroll(fab));

With custom animations:

listView.setOnTouchListener(new ShowHideOnScroll(fab, R.anim.custom_show, R.anim.custom_hide));

Customizing

Use theme to customize all floating buttons in your app:

Declare own style:

Link this style in your theme:

Customizing in layout.xml:

<com.shamanland.fab.FloatingActionButton
 android:layout_width="wrap_content"
 android:layout_height="wrap_content"
 android:src="@drawable/ic_action_my"
 app:floatingActionButtonColor="@color/my_fab_color"
 app:floatingActionButtonSize="mini"
 />

Customizing in java-code:

FloatingActionButton fab = (FloatingActionButton) findViewById(R.id.fab);
fab.setSize(FloatingActionButton.SIZE_MINI);
fab.setColor(Color.RED);
// NOTE invoke this method after setting new values! fab.initBackground();
// NOTE standard method of ImageView fab.setImageResource(R.drawable.ic_action_my);

Using of android:elevation attribute

By default FloatingActionButton sets elevation implicitly for API level 21 and higher.

In order to disable implicit behavior use attribute app:floatingActionButtonImplicitElevation="false".

<com.shamanland.fab.FloatingActionButton
 android:layout_width="wrap_content"
 android:layout_height="wrap_content"
 android:src="@drawable/ic_action_my"
 android:elevation="5dp"
 app:floatingActionButtonImplicitElevation="false"
 />

Resources

Plaxien is a small library we use at EverythingMe, that allows us to create "Explains" - easy to read representations of in-app data and logic.

Basically it can represent hierarchical data composed of "nodes" and "key/value" pairs in a nice collapsible tree view. It looks something like this:

Simple and easy dialog for Android. Instead of using dialog/fragments, normal view will be shown as dialog. It's customizable component and have 3 different content holder.

This is a very simple library for Android that allows you to stick an header to a ListView and easily apply animation to it.

The StikkyHeader supports:

 • ListView
 • RecyclerView
 • ScrollView

A Gradle plugin witch automatically packs texture for a libgdx game, using libgdx texture packer. Before packing, the plugin can do some actions on the resources provided, such as:

 • Resize images for variants
 • Generate 1 pixel 9-patches automatically
 • Convert SVG to PNG images

Gradle tasks for easy integration with ImageMagick.

The code brings up an easy way of using recyclerView, with the new recycler adapters. It also contains a BaseRecyclerFragment and a RecyclerStandalone that removes a lot of boiler plate for fragments that contains either grids or lists. It also offers out of the box a DividerItemDecoration that handles the drawing of the divider in the recycler view. As well selectors for the items in your lists are handled.
